NYE 2022 - Boathouse BOA
In 1788 Robbie Burns wrote a poem which everyone only knows the first few lines of. But regardless we all have a damn good go at it every year at midnight on the 31st December.
So hey, the Peakies aren’t going to break with tradition, so that’s exactly what we did with a superb choir of magnificent people that congregated at the Boathouse in Bradford on Avon.
Now poor old Robbie back in 1788 wasn’t in a rock’n’roll band. Loser. Even worse than that, bass, drums and leccy guitar weren’t even invented yet. These were dark times indeed.
But fear not, Peakies to the rescue. We applied all mod cons and updated the Victorian ode and even allowed the women to wear dresses above the ankle and jump around a bit.
Big thanks to the Dragos and the staff (and Ian for the booking) at the Boathouse and laying on the bubbles and nibbles.
But, as has been said many many times in our blogs, MAHOOSIVE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO DANCE ABOUT WITH US ON THE 31st AND ALL THE OTHERS TIMES THIS YEAR. The world would a lesser place without you all supporting live music and we salute you.
So as we look forward and in to 2023 lets take some moral guidance from Pete Townsend…
Rock 'n' Roll might not solve your problems, but it does let you dance all over them
Hopefully see you all sometime in 2023, and until then, keep both hands on the wheel.
Luv, The PB’s
